Our scholarship also supports language learning and strives to make young people independent. About the scholarship Why was the Wladyslaw Dembinski scholarship established? The scholarship was born out of two ideas: 1) The idea of the scholarship is to realize the educational dreams of the wards of children and young people. Thanks to the scholarship, you will be able to make a real impact on the quality of your life and the quality of life of your future Families. 2) Continuing to run open, safe and friendly homes for children and young people. Who was Wladyslaw Dembinski? Wladyslaw Dembinski, since 1958, together with Elzbieta Dembinska, n\u00e9e Rostworowska, created a Home in Warsaw, where they raised their five\/four children – the late Peter, Marieta, Joanna, Ignacy, Anna. Their Home was always open to all those who needed to warm themselves in the home’s warmth and human kindness. There was always room, food, time and help for everyone at the Dembinski House. At that time, Poland was under communism and Poland was under the control of the Soviet Union (present-day Russia), so poor and needy people were plentiful. Beginning in 1971, they created a second House in Nadkol, 70 kilometers from Warsaw – the so-called Barn. It was a 100-year-old wooden farm building – a barn – which they converted into a Summer House, still called the Barn. The place was, is and will always be open to everyone. Vladislav was a family forerunner, as numerous family homes „grew up” around the aforementioned Barn, creating places where people needing to warm up in a family atmosphere have come, are coming and will continue to come. The continuation of Wladyslaw Dembinski’s idea, the creation of open, home-like spaces for Persons in need of help, is the Joanna Radziwill Care Wings Foundation, which opened in 2016.
