On Women’s Day 2020, a long-time friend of the children and ambassador of the Foundation ,Gosia Rumian, invited a group of women to a special meeting. This year, we once again met at a common table under the slogan Women for the Foundation’s Girls.<\/em> <\/p>\n\n

We want girls to be able to decide about themselves, their bodies, to be respected and accepted. <\/h4>\n\n

We want girls and girls to know their rights, to know how to set limits. We want them to grow up in harmony with each other and learn how to be supportive of each other. We want the Foundation House to be a place that enables them to do all this every day. <\/p>\n\n

A year ago, an idea arose in the head of Gosia Rumian, who runs art workshops for children and young people, to create a fund to support the development and education of the girls in her charge. There are 16 girls from 8 to 16 years old at the Care Wings Foundation Home, who need support and a safe place at every stage of their development. Increasingly, they are asking to speak with a specialist to cope with the hardships they face daily in their homes, dysfunctional family and peer environment. <\/p>\n\n

    On a Sunday morning in March, exceptional women with a big and open heart for the needs of our girls met. At the meeting, we had the opportunity to listen to a passionate lecture on the history of pioneering entomologist Maria Sibylia Merian, presented to us by Magda Sobolewska, a biologist and educator and lecturer at the University of Warsaw. The aura of the strong and courageous Merian also accompanied us at an art workshop, led by Gosia, combining femininity, flowers and art. <\/p>\n\n

    This Sunday morning became an inspiration for Us Women.<\/h4>\n\n

    Thanks to charity meetings like the one just held ,Women. Flowers. Art <\/em>, we are able to meet some of the needs of the children and youth in our charge. It is an opportunity to come together, to exchange life wisdom, to be creative. But, most of all, it is an opportunity to make the world a better place – especially for those most needy girls and girls with whom I work every day at the Caring Wings Foundation. <\/p>\n\n

    I send a big thank you to Gosia Rumian, who directed our attentiveness to the girls’ development, and to all the women who have supported and are cheering on the girls as they continue their journey to learn about themselves and grow in harmony with each other. I know that sisterhood, seeing oneself as one is, listening to oneself, talking about body development, is a long and important process. At the Foundation House, we create a space where we support children in discovering themselves from an early age. <\/p>\n\n
