Ilona Łepkowska – Charity Star for the benefit of children from the Joanna Radziwiłł Foundation

Ilona Łepkowska is a unique personality with great energy and charisma. For many years she has been active as an Ambassador and a devoted companion of our 54 wards from Warsaw and Kamionka. As of Saturday, October 19, 2024, she is also the winner of the 15th ” Charity Stars” plebiscite in the Charity Aid category. The event is organized by the Academy for the Development of Philanthropy in Poland under the auspices of Twój STYL magazine.

– I’m very touched and a little intimidated, because I like to help quietly. I don’t like to make a lot of noise around it. I have been working with the Joanna Radziwill Foundation for about 20 years now. And I encourage all of you to get to know its activities. This is a small Foundation, but an extraordinary one. It runs a wonderful day care center for children in Warsaw’s Praga district. – Ilona Łepkowska said on stage.

Ilona has also been involved in charity work for years. Receiving an award in the “Stars of Charity” poll, she admitted that she feels best helping “quietly”, without unnecessary publicity. And supporting Joanna Radziwill’s “Caring Wings” Foundation is a chance for her to learn about the real stories of children who need support.

For me, as a screenwriter, getting to know the fate of the wards of the Joanna Radziwill Care Wings Foundation is also a great gift, because I know a lot more about what life is like outside our bubble, outside this environment in which I rotate every day. Besides, by giving I also receive a lot, because I learn a lot and I can transfer a lot of this to my later creative work.

You can watch the entire speech from the award presentation HERE.

How can you help? Ilona Łepkowska, Ambassador of 54 Children, suggests on her Facebook profile:

Support is not just about financial donations, although these are extremely important, but also about time, empathy, and engaging in trusted initiatives.

I know that large foundations have it easier. Smaller foundations have it a little more uphill because they have less money from the 1.5% and less media opportunity to promote themselves.

Here are some suggestions on how you can support us:

  1. Pledge ongoing support (in a small foundation, that’s the foundation!); at www.fundacjajoannyradziwill.pl you can declare a donation, make a standing transfer order at the bank and the child will be taken care of 🧒.

  2. Declare participation in the Big Platter program by paying for lunches (cost of one lunch for a child PLN 6.19); at www.wielkitalerz.pl you will find all the details 🍏.

  3. Each year when settling 1.5% in your tax return, enter KRS number 0000 630 706

  4. Register at https://fanimani.pl/, select the Joanna Radziwill Care Wings Foundation and set yourself a “reminder.” As soon as we enter the page of the store cooperating with FaniMani , a message will be displayed for us to activate the donation. Simple? Simple! And it doesn’t cost anything either!

  5. When organizing name days, birthdays, weddings or other celebrations, ask your guests to put a larger bill in a prepared box for a specific purpose of the Foundation. Such a gift will bring pleasure to you as well!

Ilona made a donation of PLN 10,000 to the Foundation, which was fully allocated to activities with children and young people in December 2024.

And we, together with the children, sincerely congratulate Ilona on her nomination! You are wonderful and exceptional! Thank you for your concrete help, participation and promotion of the “Big Plate” and “Caring Wings” program, and for your daily commitment. You are adding wings! ❤

Congratulations also to the other awardees: Agnieszka Sienkiewicz-Gauer, Magdalena Różczka, Karolina Pilarczyk and Jakub Strzyczkowski.
