Support for children and young people at the Caring Wings Foundation
The Caring Wings Foundation supports children and adolescents who are struggling with developmental, mental and social difficulties. Often these are the result of difficult family, material and educational situations, as well as lack of parental support. Our goal is to provide them with a safe and friendly place where they receive professional emotional, social, therapeutic and developmental assistance every day.
How do we help our subjects?
Thanks to the cooperation with Valores Foundation we have been regularly surveying the impact we are having on the lives of our residents for the past two years. Together, we have developed an innovative survey tool to monitor changes in four key areas:
- Independence
- Self-acceptance
- Broadening perspectives
- Social skills
We conduct the survey twice a year, analyzing the results for each child, which allows us to see the real effects of our work.
The results of our activities
Our research shows dynamic changes in children’s lives:
- 14% growth in expanding prospects
- 11% increase in self-acceptance
- 10% increase in social skills
- 9.5% increase in self-reliance
Although the development of independence reaches slightly lower values, this result is also something we are proud of. The average duration of care for a child is more than 5 years, and some children stay with us for several years, which translates into significant, long-lasting changes in their lives.
