Wind in the sails – KGHM Polska Miedź Foundation

We are doing everything to give the children and young people in our charge a safe and adequate start. “Wind in the sails” is a program aimed at a group of 31 children and adolescents aged 6- 18, who come from families with alcohol, alcohol problems, violence or families at risk of these phenomena. The project is financed thanks to the KGHM Polska Miedź Foundation.

As part of the project, we operate in two locations: at the Foundation House in Warsaw – going and developing children’s interests; and in the vicinity of Lublin supporting the poorest families by providing them with food products and items needed by children and young people.

We are planning five class groups:

  • Virtuosos of Taste,
  • IT/Graphics Masters,
  • Art connoisseurs
  • Tuzi linguistics
  • Sports champions

The aim of the project is to improve psycho-social functioning and develop the interests and skills of children and young people from alcoholic, violent families or families at risk of these phenomena. The change in psycho-social functioning and development of interests, as well as the acquired practical skills of the participants of the task will translate into an increase in motivation to act, an increase in underestimated self-esteem, the choice of a further educational path and gaining competence in the labor market.

We know that by showing the world to children and young people, new passions, traveling, learning together – they will have a better chance to get out of their family patterns and follow their own , healthy path in life.
